Gift card: twelve months of Caviste to give

For someone who owns bottles and no longer quite knows which ones.

A bottle is drunk in one evening. A cellar is kept for years, and that is where things get complicated: you no longer know what you have, nor where, nor when to open it. Caviste answers those three questions, and this card gives it for a year.

How it works

Three steps, and the second one is the only one that needs your attention.

1. You pay and you give the email address of the person you are giving the card to.
2. They receive their gift by email, with what to do and the reference of their card. You can also send it to yourself, to print it and give it on the day: nothing expires until someone claims it.
3. They create their account with that address, and Premium is already there. No code to copy, nothing to do inside the app.

Only one thing can go wrong: an account created with an address other than the gift's will not see it. Write to us and we will move it.

Who it is really for

Caviste is not an app for discovering wine, so this gift does not make sense for everyone. It makes a lot of sense for four people.

• The one who has a cellar and lost track of it. Thirty, a hundred, three hundred bottles, a memory and a notebook. They photograph their labels, everything gets sorted, and the Drink tab tells them where to start.
• The one who entertains often. They describe their menu, the sommelier picks from their own cellar and explains why that bottle.
• The one who is starting out. Ten bottles bought without knowing when to open them: that is exactly what the drinking window answers, appellation by appellation.
• The couple or the family. The cellar is shared, and so is the question of what to open tonight.

What the twelve months unlock

• The cellar with no limit (the free tier stops at 30 entries).
• Label scanning: the AI reads the bottle, even a small estate no database knows, and fills the entry in.
• The drinking window of every bottle, at five levels of precision, and the reminder when it approaches.
• The sommelier: a written food and wine pairing, chosen from the cellar.
• The cellarman's note on every entry: temperature, decanting, style, pairings.
• The cellar map: the racks drawn, every bottle in its place, and the Locate button from the entry.

What it is not

It is not wine: no bottle is delivered, and Caviste does not sell any. It is not a disguised subscription either. After twelve months nothing renews and nothing is charged: the account returns to the free tier, and the cellar and the tasting journal stay whole.

And if the person has taken to it, they can subscribe themselves from the app, whenever they decide: 2.99 € a month or 24.99 € a year, cancellable whenever they want. It is a choice they make, not a renewal they endure.

Frequently asked questions

How does the recipient get their gift?

By email, at the address you give at payment. All they have to do is install Caviste and create their account with that address: Premium switches itself on, with no code to enter.

Does the card have an expiry date?

No. As long as it is not claimed, it waits. The twelve months only start when the account is created, so a card bought in September and given at Christmas gives a full twelve months from Christmas.

What happens after the twelve months?

Nothing is charged: the account simply returns to the free tier, and the cellar stays whole. There is no subscription to cancel, because there never was one. If the person wants to keep Premium, they subscribe from the app whenever they decide, at 2.99 € a month or 24.99 € a year.

Does the gift work on iPhone and on Android?

On both. Premium belongs to the account and not to the phone: it follows the recipient if they change device, and it works on the App Store as well as on Google Play.

What if the person already uses Caviste?

That is the simplest case: Premium switches on in their existing account, with nothing for them to do. Their cellar does not move.

What if they already subscribe?

Write to us before buying. The twelve months would be added to their running subscription, which may not be what you mean to give.

Can I buy several?

Yes, one per recipient. Two cards for the same person make twenty-four months: they add up, they do not overwrite each other.

Can I get a refund?

Yes, within 14 days, by simply replying to the confirmation email. We return the money, and the card is cancelled if it has not been claimed yet. One reservation only, and it is a matter of law: if the recipient has already activated their card, the service has begun and the right of withdrawal no longer applies (terms of sale, article 7).
